Quests

Gothic does not mark your map or chase you with arrows — quests are things people ask of you, and you remember them or you don’t. This quest directory catalogues the journey of the Nameless Hero: the main-story quests that carry you from a beaten newcomer to the slayer of the Sleeper, plus the camp-defining side quests that earn your place among the Old Camp, New Camp or the Sect. Each entry lays out who gives the quest, what it asks, the choices it offers, and the rewards — without spoiling the turns that make Gothic worth playing.

A Letter for the Fire Mages

The Nameless Hero's first errand: get Diego's guidance through the colony and deliver a sealed royal letter to the Fire Mages inside the Old Camp's castle.

Accumulate 30 approval points through espionage and camp tasks — including forging the Old Mine supply list — to be sworn in as a Rogue under Lares.

A loyalty trial set by Diego: descend into the Old Mine, find overseer Ian, and return his supply list — a document with a secret double purpose for the New Camp.

Focus for the Gurus

Y'Berion sends the Nameless Hero to the coastal cliffs to recover a Focus Stone from the errant novice Nyras — the first key to contacting the Sleeper.

The Failed Great Calling

The Brotherhood's climactic ritual to summon the Sleeper ends in disaster, killing Y'Berion and fracturing the Sect Camp — redirecting the hero toward the Water Mages.

Cor Kalom dispatches the hero deep into the Old Mine to battle the Minecrawler queen and harvest her eggs — a critical ingredient for the Great Calling ritual.

Reaching Xardas

Recharge Uriziel

The legendary sword Uriziel is powerless until its magic is restored — the weapon the Hero needs to face the Sleeper's guardians.

Craft the ULU-MULU

To cross the hostile Orc City, the Hero must assemble the ULU-MULU — a ceremonial Orc standard that grants safe passage.
