Fisk
Також відомий як: Fisk the Trader
Fisk is a Shadow of the Old Camp who runs a trading post in the outer ring market area. Positioned in front of his hut on a bench, he sells weapons and basic supplies, including the digger trousers that unguilded workers need to access the mine. His clientele spans both Diggers and Guards, an unusual cross-rank trade that gives him informal influence exceeding what the Shadow rank alone might suggest.
The Fence Network and Camp Admission
Fisk’s vote is required for the Nameless Hero to be admitted to the Old Camp as a Shadow, and that vote depends on the state of his supply chain. His fence is Mordrag, a New Camp rogue who exploits his status as a Water Mage courier to move stolen goods through the Old Camp without Guard interference. If the Hero resolves Thorus’s assignment by expelling or killing Mordrag rather than escorting him away safely, Fisk loses his supplier and withholds his endorsement. The situation can be salvaged by introducing Sharky as a replacement fence; Sharky accepts the role and Fisk’s goodwill is restored.
Feud with Whistler
The personal animosity between Fisk and his fellow Shadow Whistler produces one of the outer ring’s most consequential minor quests. Whistler commissioned Huno to forge an ornamented sword and, once the weapon was complete, expected to buy it through the standard market. Fisk obtained possession of the sword and is deliberately withholding it out of spite. Whistler recruits the Nameless Hero as an intermediary, providing 100 ore toward a 110-ore price. The Hero must return to close the 10-ore gap on a second visit. Naming Whistler during the transaction causes Fisk to refuse the sale entirely, requiring the Hero to approach him without disclosing the buyer’s identity.
Later History
Fisk reappears in Gothic II: Night of the Raven as a member of Raven’s bandit company in Jharkendar, continuing his trade under considerably more precarious circumstances. A local bandit named Juan has stolen his package of lockpicks, which the Hero can recover for him. It is also revealed through dialogue and quest content that Fisk arranged the assassination of a rival merchant named Esteban, whose operation had encroached on his profits. The murder underscores that Fisk’s affable trader persona has always concealed the calculated ruthlessness of a man who survives the colony by eliminating problems before they become threats.
Gothic 1 Remake Context
In the Remake, Fisk retains his position in the outer ring market and his structural roles in the admission questline and the Whistler subplot. The Remake titles the related quest Whistler’s Sword and incorporates it into the formal quest log while preserving the core of Fisk’s deliberate obstruction and the need for an anonymous approach at the point of sale.
